Port of Brisbane / Area S3B : good start for impressive Vaccum works

• installation completed : total area 93 000m2, with maximum depth of clay 40m and soil bentonite perimeter wall 15m deep,
• vacuum operation started 9 October for 18th months; first monitoring indicates a very good progress

Brisbane Airport Link : successful completion of Diaphragm Wall, on time despite very variable rockhead level

• initial stage : 2 600 m2 completed in sept 09
• additional stage : 1 850 m2 completed in nov 09
